GETTING SPRING CLEAN

GETTING SPRING CLEAN
And keeping things fresh

The changing or seasons can be a great time to de-clutter the house and get everything in order for a spring and summer full of camping, outdoor sports and other family activities. The return of spring for many also means spring cleaning – and while it can seem daunting to get spring clean successful:

PLAN AHEAD
Start by walking around your house and taking a look at what needs to be cleaned. Check out often overlooked surfaces like window sills and baseboards. Knowing what needs to be done makes it easier to start.

SURVEY YOUR CLOSET:
Before you head to the mall for a new spring wardrobe, take a survey of your closet and the clothes you have in storage. Take the time to try things on, keeping what can still be worn and donating what you don’t want anymore. Taking inventory of your closet will make it easy to choose what items will need to be purchased and will avoid unnecessary purchases, saving you money. Having a neat and organized closet will also allow you to see what clothes you have, so that your favourite pieces don’t get lost.

THINK BIG PICTURE
Sping cleaning is a great time to tackle large surfaces and appliances in your house like the windows or the back of the fridge. To keep surfaces clean choose naturally derived products low in chemicals. Made from plant based, biodegradable cleaning ingredients Green Works products are at least 95 percent naturally derived and are great choice for gentle yet effective cleaning.

HAVE FUN:
Spring cleaning is a great time to get the whole family involved in cleaning the house and getting ready for the new season. Involving the kids in task like sorting their clothes or cleaning out under the bed is a great way to have them be a part of the cleaning process.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS:
Finding other people living green, either in your community or online, is a great way to exchange information and ask questions. Check out already existing communities like the Green Works Facebook page at www.facebook.com/greenworkscanada for great tips and advice.
